Great video and glad to see you challenging the kids and promoting reading. Just make sure you keep Critical Race Theory and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the other woke garbage out of the schools. All students deserve to be treated based on their accomplishments and behavior and not judged by the color of their skin or their heritage.

Or something like that. That notion occurred to me when I read this morning that Maryland transportation authorities have dismissed the idea of any rail option for a new Chesapeake Bay crossing. Instead, they seem to be opting for "doing what we've always done", that is, building yet another auto bridge across the Bay alongside the first two spans. DUMB! If that idea was approved today, my grandchildren's children will be sitting in traffic in the year 2040 somewhere on Rte 50 on any given night in the summer.Why not a rail crossing-even a rail crossing under or parallel to one of the current spans? Why not hook up with a light rail or any damn kind of rail from northeast Washington using the median of Rte 50, then proceeding on to Ocean City with intermediate stops at Stephensville, Cambridge, Salisbury and so on. Why not run a line from Baltimore to the Eastern Shore? Too expensive? Not really, when you consider how many cars a rail system would remove from the bridge; how many more visitors could be accommodated to points along the Atlantic? Are we suffering from a misunderstanding of the cost of such a project, or a misunderstanding of the value of moving more people, more efficiently, doing less damage to the environment? There's value in that. Or, is it that deep and ugly residual racism that fears public transportation makes it too easy for folks who "don't look like us" to come into our midst? It's all of the above, I believe.
